Biography

YvesBorn on may 4th 1979, I grew up in the Belgian mining region, Limburg. I studied math and sciences at high school, but got pretty adicted to my computer from a very early age. Starting with gaming and DOS batch programming on a 286 machine, growing into all the relevant programming languages and operating systems.

This way I rolled in to the professional software development industry working with mostly Microsoft technologies for the past 7 years. I've been active as both a developer, an architect and as a trainer. Currently I'm employed as a technical architect for Compuware Belgium, which allows me to gain an enormous amount of experience architecting and designing (parts of) large system. Furthermore I perform the role of team lead, trying to guide a number of colleagues on both technical and personal aspects of their carreer.

Outside of the business hours, I'm also actively presenting for the belgian visual studio user group, Visug, and for Microsoft. I've had the chance to present at several MSDN evening sessions and even the belgian TechDays.

As great as my professional career is going, my personal life may be even better. I'm married to my lovely wife Wendy, who has been realy realy supporting for as long as I know her.

Besides that, I'm also the proud father of my four month's old little boy, Rune. It's outright amazing to be a dad, believe me...

Obviously I hope to pass the computer virus on to him.
